On January 1, 2023, the Minister of Health appointed members of the 2nd term of office of the Council of the Polish Anti-Doping Laboratory. The Council consists of:

Prof. Marek Mędraś MD, Ph.D - Chairman of the Council

Specialist in Internal Medicine, Specialist Endocrinologist-Andrologist. Employment: research and didactic employee of the Medical University in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology and Isotope Therapy in Wroclaw, at the position of full professor. Since 1996, he has been employed as an associate professor at the Academy of Physical Education in Wroclaw.Member of the Polish Society of Endocrinology and the Polish Society of Andrology.Scientific research: in the field of sports medicine including the problem of androgen-anabolic doping (influence on the function of the male gonads ), some aspects of anti-doping control or issues concerning the mineral density of the skeletal system in people practicing various sports.


Prof. Natalia Pawlas MD, Ph.D - Deputy Chairman of the Council

Specialist in intensive care (2022), clinical toxicology (2017) and occupational medicine (2013). She graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Medicine in Katowice, then the Silesian Medical Academy. She also received her doctoral degree in medicine from the aforementioned Faculty in 2008 on the basis of her dissertation "Effect of arachidonic acid on rat cerebral cortex neurons under the conditions of an in vitro ischemia model," and received her postdoctoral degree in medical science in the discipline of medicine, specialty: pharmacology and toxicology, in 2016. at the Faculty of Medicine with the Division of Medicine and Dentistry in Zabrze SUM in Katowice, on the basis of a series of publications under the common title "Environmental exposure of children to lead - health effects and their determinants."
From 2007 to 2019, she worked at the Institute of Occupational Medicine and Environmental Health in Sosnowiec (Department of Chemical Hazards and Genetic Toxicology, where she served as head of the Genetic Toxicology Laboratory), as well as at the Regional Acute Poisoning Center with the Clinical Toxicology Department.
Since October 2016, he has been Head of the Department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze SUM in Katowice, currently at the position of SUM professor. Since June 2019, he has also worked in the Department of Toxicology at the St. Barbara Regional Specialized Hospital No. 5 in Sosnowiec.
In addition, she is a Provincial Consultant in clinical toxicology and a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Occupational Medicine in Lodz.
She was appointed to the Committee of Physiological and Pharmacological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the 2020-2023 term. She gives lectures on toxicology as part of CMKP specialization courses. She is a member of, among others, the Polish Society of Pharmacology (currently Chair of the Board of the Silesian Branch), the Polish Society of Toxicology, and the International Commission on Occupational Health (currently Chair of the Scientific Committee on Toxicology of Metals).


Marta Nowacka-Chmielewska, MD, PhD

Doctor of medicine and health sciences with a specialty in neuropharmacology. Graduate in biotechnology at the Silesian Medical University in Katowice and postgraduate studies in molecular biology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal Dysfunctions and Sports Medicine and Head of the Molecular Research Laboratory at the Institute of Physiotherapy and Health Sciences at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice.Specialist at the Center for Experimental Medicine of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice.
Manager and co-principal investigator of research projects addressing the effects of chronic stress, physical activity, training and diet on central nervous system function in animal models. Author of scientific publications and conference reports in the field of neuroscience.
She is a member of the Polish Society for Nervous System Research, as well as the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS).
Privately, first and foremost a mother with a passion for travel, literature and sports.


Ewa Sobiech, Msc

Chief specialist at the Ministry of Health.
Postgraduate studies in Medical Law, Bioethics and Sociology of Medicine at the University of Warsaw. Postgraduate studies in Audit and Internal Control in Administration and Economy.
Qualification as an inspector of Personal Data Protection.

Specialist in clinical analytics, head of the Department of Laboratory Diagnostics at the Medical University of Lublin, former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Long-time Regional and Provincial Consultant in the field of laboratory diagnostics. Member of the State Examination Commission in the field of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics, member of the Polish Accreditation Commission.
